We work with some of Berlin’s strongest engineering teams, and Senior Backend Engineers are one of the roles we’re asked for most. If you own services end-to-end and want to build at scale in one of Europe’s best tech cities, we’d like to hear from you.
What these roles look for
- 5+ years building and operating production backend systems
- Strong fundamentals, data modelling, APIs, queues, testing, CI/CD
- Experience with a typed language (Go, Java, Kotlin, C# or TypeScript)
- Comfort owning services in production
What these roles typically involve
- Owning backend services end-to-end, from design and build through to running them in production
- Making sound calls on data modelling, APIs, queues and system boundaries
- Keeping reliability, performance and cost in balance as the system grows
- Mentoring through code review and design discussion, lifting the whole team
Senior backend work in Berlin means real ownership of systems that have to stay up. The strongest engineers here design for the failure cases, not just the happy path, and leave the codebase better than they found it.
