We are partnering with a technology-for-good organisation whose software supports meaningful, real-world change. The product engineering team is collaborative and thoughtful, and they are looking for an engineer who combines strong technical skills with that same approach.
About the role
You will help design, build and maintain scalable software products using Python and TypeScript. Working closely with Product, Design and Engineering, you will deliver new features, improve existing systems and contribute to technical decisions across the platform. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to influence architecture, improve code quality, mentor other engineers and help shape engineering best practices.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop and maintain scalable software applications
- Build reliable APIs and backend services
- Deliver new features alongside Product, Design and Engineering
- Contribute to architecture and technical direction
- Take part in code reviews and improve engineering standards
- Mentor and support other engineers
- Improve platform performance, reliability and observability
What we’re looking for
- Strong commercial experience with Python and TypeScript
- Experience with Next.js and NestJS
- Experience building cloud-native applications on Azure
- Experience working on large-scale software platforms
- A good understanding of Agile and DevOps practices
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Bonus: Terraform or ORM experience, and an interest in artificial intelligence, sustainability or technology for good.
Compensation
Up to £80,000, depending on experience. Remote within the UK.
